Crystal AB Cube & Green Seed Bead Herringbone Necklace
This designer necklace appeared on the cover of the April/May 2007 Beadwork magazine, done in ivory cubes and sporting pink flowers. Not being able to find those beads, I changed the color arrangement and made this necklace with 3mm square crystal AB Miyuki cubes. The pink flowers became purple flowers with a striking contrast between the purple sequins and the tiny yellow 15/0 hex seed beads.
This necklace also uses vintage Czech seed beads in the leaf fringe, as well as modern 15/0 hex beads. The clasp has three different sizes of fine Austrian crystal pearls in green, and a sterling silver clasp that I made especially for this necklace.
This is not one of my designs. Credit for that goes to Margo Field. However, I did do all the beading for this piece at the Bead Society of New Hampshire's September Bead Retreat at Geneva Point, located on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in northern New Hampshire.
All beads in this beautiful piece are of the highest quality. The necklace is adjustable by hooking the sterling silver clasp into one of the bead loops, or catching it upon the crystal pearls. Strung with crystal fireline, the thread is nearly invisible, but strong (6 lb. test fireline). The necklace has a lovely drape.
Length of the necklace: Adjustable from 16.75" (42.5 cm) up to 19.5" (49.5 cm)
Size of the pendant from the top of the flower bunch to the lowest part of the fringe: 2.25" (5.7 cm)
Here is a closeup of the pendant, which is permanently affixed to the necklace:
Again, this necklace is based upon Margo Field's design, and is not one of my original designs. Also see a matching bracelet based upon the stitch used here, which is a modified herringbone stitch. The pictures hardly capture the beauty of this piece, but be assured that if you are not satisfied with the design or the workwomanship, your money will be happily refunded.
As with all offerings in the eed For Beads store, the picture is of the actual item for sale.
